Which size should I choose?

Pick the size that matches your mattress. The exact measurements for each size are on this page, in the size chart and the product details.

For quilts, blankets and bedspreads, go one size up if you like extra drape over the sides of the bed.

Is this quilt really handmade?

Yes, from start to finish. Every quilt is hand-stitched by women artisans in Jaipur, stitch by stitch.

Printed quilts are also hand block printed: each pattern is carved into a wooden block, dipped in dye and pressed onto the fabric by hand, one color at a time. Machines can’t copy that patience.

How warm is this quilt?

It’s an all-season quilt: organic cotton outside with a pure cotton fill inside. It’s light enough for summer, cozy in air-conditioned rooms and just right for mild winters.

Need more warmth for cold winters? Our Winter Special quilts have a much heavier cotton fill.

What is the quilt cover add-on?

It works like a duvet cover for your quilt. The quilt goes inside, and the cover comes off for an easy machine wash, so the quilt itself stays fresh for years.

Why do your quilts cost more than store-bought ones?

Most quilts in stores are machine-made and filled with polyester to keep costs down. Ours are hand-stitched, often hand block printed too, and made with 100% natural cotton fabric and pure cotton filling. Artisans spend days, not minutes, on a single piece.

You’re paying for breathable natural materials, fair handmade work and a quilt that gets softer with age instead of wearing out.

Will it look exactly like the photos?

Very close. Because every piece is printed and finished by hand, you may see small variations in color, print placement and texture. These are signs of handwork, not defects, and they make your piece one of a kind.

Screens also show colors a little differently, so the shade may vary slightly from what you see here.

Is it organic and safe for sensitive skin?

We use organic cotton across most of our range, colored with natural, skin-safe dyes and no harsh chemicals. Our quilts and comforters use pure cotton fill, with no polyester or synthetic fibers.

Shipping

Do you ship worldwide, and how much is shipping?

Yes, we ship from Jaipur, India to most countries.

  • Free shipping on orders of US$150 or more (or the same amount in your currency)
  • Flat US$15 on smaller orders

You’ll see the exact cost for your address at checkout, before you pay.

When will my order arrive?

Your order leaves our studio in Jaipur within 1–2 business days. Delivery then usually takes:

  • US, Canada, UK, Europe and Australia: 4–9 business days
  • Rest of the world: 10–12 business days
Can I track my order?

Yes. Every order ships with a tracked, insured service: USPS, DHL or FedEx. We email your tracking link as soon as your package leaves Jaipur.

Will I pay customs duties or import taxes?

It depends on where you live. For many countries, including the UK, Canada and Australia, duties and taxes are worked out at checkout, so there’s nothing extra to pay at your door.

For other countries, your local customs office may charge import fees when the package arrives. These are set by your government, not by us.

Returns & orders

What is your return policy?

You can return items within 30 days of delivery, as long as they’re unused, unwashed and in their original packaging.

To start a return, email info@thejaipurwala.org with your order number. Once your return arrives and is checked, we refund your original payment method. Return shipping is paid by the customer, and the original shipping charge isn’t refundable.

What if my order arrives damaged or wrong?

We’ll make it right. Email info@thejaipurwala.org with your order number and a photo, and we’ll arrange an exchange or a refund. We cover the return shipping for damaged, faulty or incorrect items.

Can I cancel or change my order?

Yes, within 24 hours of placing it, as long as it hasn’t shipped yet. Email info@thejaipurwala.org with your order number.

Do you take custom or bulk orders?

Yes. For a different size, color or a larger quantity, email info@thejaipurwala.org with what you have in mind and we’ll talk it through.

Custom orders are made just for you, so they can’t be returned.

Which payment methods do you accept?

All major credit and debit cards, plus Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Every option available in your country appears at checkout.

Checkout is secure and encrypted, and we never see or store your card details.

Care

How do I wash it?
  • Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent
  • Wash separately for the first few washes
  • No bleach
  • Tumble dry low, or line dry in the shade

Cotton gets softer with every wash.

Will the colors fade?

Natural dyes soften gently over time, giving your piece a lived-in, heirloom feel. They won’t bleed or fade suddenly with proper care.

To keep colors rich for longer, wash cold, skip the bleach and dry out of direct sun.

My quilt has a light earthy smell. Is that normal?

Yes. Natural cotton can carry a faint earthy smell, especially after shipping or in humid weather. Lay it in fresh air and sunlight for 1–2 hours and it will go away.
